ESN Cagliari goes to Opera!

Hello guys,

ESN Cagliari has made an agreement with the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, and this means that we get discounts for the operas and the ballets. On Saturday 30th November at 19.00 it's the turn of "Pagliacci", an Italian Opera of 1882 by Ruggero Leoncavallo.
The cost of the ticket is 7€ only for the second loggia. If you're interested, please contact as soon as possible Eleonora Erriu, so we can book the seats.

Plot: Canio's acting company has come to a small southern village to put up on a show. Canio doesn't know that his wife Nedda cheats on him with Silvio, a local farmer. Tonio, who loves Nedda and is rejected by her, tells Canio about his wife cheating on him. Canio discovers the two lovers swearing love to each other, but Silvio runs away not being seen in the face. Canio wants to jump on Nedda, but one of the actor comes to urge for the play to begin because the audience is waiting. Ironically, Canio's role is that of Pagliaccio, a husband cheated by his wife Colombina, played by Nedda. Reality blurs with fiction and Canio, hiding himself behind his role, blames Nedda for her ingratitude and he tells her that his love for her has become hate because of the jeaulosy. In this way, tragedy has come to completion and the audience will understand too late that what they're witnessing is no longer fiction.
