ESN Cagliari goes to the Ballet!

Next week at Teatro Lirico there will be the ballet Red Giselle. The show is on Saturday 14th December at 19, and the cost of the ticket is 7€ for the 2nd loggia.

The ballet is inspired by the tragic life of ballerina Olga Spessivtseva, étoile of Marijnsky and of Ballets Russes and of the Opéra in Paris; one of the best Giselle performer.
Plot:

1900-1910. Saint Petersburg. At the inside of Teatro Imperiale Marijnsky, the maitre de ballet chooses his own ideal ballerina: Olga Spessiytseva, beautiful and charming, destined to a brilliant career. One night, during a ballet, she meets Boris Kaplun, an agent of Ceka (old KGB); there's a strange relationship between them and Olga is forced to submit to the regime falling into vice and forgetting the spiritual values taught by her maitre. when she decides to go back to her dance classes, she discovers that the other ballerinas as well have become instruments of revolutionary system. So she says goodbye to her guardian and she decides to accept the invitation by the Opéra de Paris to perform Giselle (1924). Here Olga arrives confused but she will have a great success with her new artistic partner. Olga has unrequited feelings for her partner and, chased by her past and the memory of the Ceka agent, she tries to forget everything by sinking into alcoholism. She hangs on her greatest success, the role of Giselle, who ends to truly belongign to her until madness takes her.
